Not a bad walk. Totally a rehabilitation zone with regards to water banks. Once off the front line entrance from Henry Lawson though it is ok. Good to do with young kids as well. But take some water and snacks. It took myself, my partner and her friend with two kids over 2 hours. They wanted to explore. Which basically meant it was a success.
Hint: to avoid getting lost, or at least not left wondering which way to go, when entering from Henry Lawson Dr follow the loop anti-clockwise (to the right). The trail signs make more sense.

This is a great loop track through the bush and around a lagoon. It would be great if there were a few more sign posts as there are lots of side tracks off the main one. A good one to do with kids (aged 5+). There is one steepish section requiring a shimmy down a rock whilst holding a rope (there is a stepped side track around this), which is lots of fun for kids but something to keep in mind as it requires balance.

Fairly moderate walk around a lagoon, through pretty bush land with spring flowers and natural rock formations. Glimpses of urbanisation, but not too much. Several rocky steps with one series conveniently supplied with a rope tied to a tree for easier descent.
Kookaburras, cockatoos and rosellas spotted. This is a first look at a George’s River National Park walk in many years and it has awoken a wish to try some more of the many walks within the park.
Convenient Sydney bush land.

This is a fairly easy track to walk, you can see and hear birds like rainbow lorikeets, kookaburras and white cocktails, but that’s about it unless you’re lucky. There’s not much else to see but bush, and the tracks aren’t marked or well maintained. Only saw one other person, so there were lots of spiderwebs to get through! I wouldn’t go back or recommend. Burnum Burnum near by is much nicer with its view over the river.

Good hiking experience that’s close by. The hiking trail I went on had brief periods of cool, mountain area, and arid hike, and then the general, Australian bush hike. All in the one trail! Relatively easy to moderate.
Would be careful about picnicking when it’s windy! Be sure to pick a place that doesn’t have too much bare patches of dirt.
Spotted a large goanna on our visit.

I VISITED GEORGES RIVER NATIONAL PARK FOR THE FIRST AND LAST TIME TODAY TO THE PICNIC AREA.
I WAS APPALLED WITH THE PLACE.
$8 FOR PARKING.
TOILETS LOCKED.
YOU HAVE TO WALK A FAIR WAY TO THE OTHER ONES TOWARDS ENTRANCE.
PART OF DRIVING THROUGH THERE’S A SECTION YOU HAVE TO BE CAREFUL YOU DONT TOUCH CARS, WHICH SHOULD BE WIDER.NARROW WHICH THEY SHOULD WIDEN.
THE WATER TO ME IS MUGGY NOT CLEAR.
HARDLY ANYONE THERE, MAYBE 2 FAMILIES.
NOTHING AT ALL EXCITING ABOUT THE PLACE. DISGUSTING!!!
