Tom and his team have completed numerous projects for u, both personally in our home, and more recently in our business premises, which always needs a lot more thought in working on whilst a business is in progress – this project went very smoothly. Tom’s team have done a great job in all projects. We are very happy with the outcomes, the teams of tradesmen he brings together to work with on the projects & his manner in dealing with any issues. All outcome have been very positive.

We used Tom for building works on our house. Throughout the whole process we found Tom and his team easy to communicate with.
As a perfectionist myself, his work was excellent and finished to a high standard. His price is competitive with other builders.
I would recommend Tom to my family and friends for building and carpentry work.

Tom and the team did an amazing job transforming our 60 square meter outdoor entertaining area. The whole process from quote to completion was seamless. The job was completed both on time and on budget. Tom’s product recommendations were bang on and we could not be any happier with the finished product. I have no problems in highly recommending TJC, in fact I already have put some friends in contact with the team.

Helleur Building completed a major sliding door installation at our home. This involved the removal of the exterior wall/windows. As well as the Sliding Door/Window set, the project involved the construction of a step deck. It has been a fabulous addition to our home both visually and practically. Excellent craftsmanship and a quality job. We will no doubt have Helleur Building back in the future for larger scale works we have in the planning. Helleur Building is everything you want in a Builder, but most importantly timelines, reliability and punctuality all exceeded expectations.

Elliott was recommended to us by friends and we are glad we went with him and his team to replace our back deck. He was very easy to deal with (unlike our other experiences with builders), communicated with us constantly, had a great eye for detail and was happy to make changes throughout the build. We will definitely be using EAC Building again in the future and would highly recommend them.

Elliott and his team did a fantastic job of creating an amazing home office from our unused storage space under our house. From the get go, Elliott was exceptionally punctual with quotes, build times and generally being on time & budget! He was able to Project manage the whole engagement with various sub-contractors which made the build process so much easier for us. I would highly recommend Elliott and his team for any major renovations.

Elliott and his team renovated my lounge room and build a deck off the back of our house. From the start I could tell he was very knowledgeable and passionate about his work. Not only did Elliott come within our budget but he was also able to complete the work very efficiently with a great eye for detail.

On site he was punctual every day, tidy and always wiling to talk options with us. Our renos turned out better than we could have ever imagined it. 5 star service and all we get is compliments from our visitors about Elliott’s work. Would highly recommend!

The team at Backspace Living finished our granny flat in 2021 under the pandemic pressure of COVID – well done team! We are really happy with the job and the final product. Their business is boutique and our granny flat feels really unique. It is so liveable!! Many thanks to all of the team.

Thank you Dale and team 🙂 From our initial consultation with James to the hand over of our beautiful uniquely designed Backspace Granny (or posh designer studio apartment) the team at backspace listened to what we wanted and designed exactly what was in our heads. Full size kitchen and bathroom, spacious lounge and bedroom. An amazing colour scheme that will last the test of time. Fantastic investment .good rental $$$ and when we are ready to down size we have a beautiful new home to move into. Fantastic tradesmen. No problems with the build. Very happy 🙂 would recommend to anyone. A quality build .

Happy with the end product, but it took well over the estimated time to complete. There were a lot of mistakes made along the way, but they were fixed with no issue. A lot of delays also. I would keep note of inclement weather days so that they can honour their agreement where they pay rent if it goes over the 12 week schedule. Once finished though we’ve had no issues and the house is great.

Backyard Grannys has just completed a 3 bedroom Brick home for us and we could NOT be happier! It was built in a record time frame 3-4 months only! (Especially when you hear other builders taking over 12 months!) From start Garry in sales was great and very helpful. Thank you Garry for being honest and for taking my every call and working out best options and layout for us. Big thank you Rochelle in planning again for being there every step of the way and so punctual and again same as Garry always been there when we had question and uncertainty on different things… Huge thank you to our building project manager Jack Peacock for making sure that absolutely everything was right! Every phone call to Jack when we would be worried about anything would finish up with us being happy and content and every time Jack would deliver what he promised in every detail which i loved about him as we are very particular and thorough.. The only thing i regret is that Backyard Grannys don’t do extensions as we need to renovate and do an extension in a house that we live in. I really mean it! Because they are the best! Truthful, great quality for good price AND NO HEADACHES! I will recommend them to anyone and everyone!

Backyard Grannys had been highly recommended to me and I decided to go with them after interviewing 2 other builders. My due diligence and trust in the recommendation paid off. My granny flat commenced during the uncertainty of lockdowns and supply issues in the building industry but Backyard Grannys were fantastic. Timber was a problem but they sorted the problem with steel with barely a hiccup. Adam the site manager was fantastic in ensuring everything went smoothly for me. He kept me informed with the build regularly and was meticulous at the final inspection, making sure everything was exactly as it should be. I have no hesitation in recommending Backyard Grannys for your granny flat build.

From the very first meeting with Grant from backyard granny’s, we have had outstanding service, communication and quality. Their team work together like a well oiled machine, all communicating with each other and taking the guesswork out of it for us.
Having never built before this was a daunting experience for us, yet saying it was so Easy would be an understatement. The lovely Rochelle took all pressure off us and did all the leg work for getting everything through council so quickly and smoothly. From there the project was handed over to Tom McKell where he definitely had his work cut out for him. Our property was not as straightforward build, with many challenges, built on a slope with very difficult access. Again the communication and process was so smooth and efficient!
There were no corners cut in quality and our “grandpa flat” is outstanding!
Thanks to everyone involved we will always speak of Backyard Granny’s fondly and would not hesitate in using them again.
