Prices – ridiculously over marked.
Not very female friendly as observed.
Personally I’d invest more time & go to Bunnings. At least there you’ll get a friendly smile & a positive attitude/ response.
A bit pricey. Good service though.
Possibly the worst customer service I’ve experienced, asked if the rude gentleman could help me find something, he laughed, and said well what do you want? When I told him, what I was after he mocked the words I used, corrected me then just pointed in the general direction.

Every time I go into this store the team are so helpful and attentive. I often find hardware stores to be overwhelming and intimidating but always feel so welcome here. I also think there is an excellent range of homewares and things for the garden. Thank you for your great service team!

Fabulous showroom, great location.
After a visit to the Surry Hills showroom I was impressed with the range and placed an order for several handles and hinges. From there it went downhill and the service was almost non existent.
Most of the items were out of stock and I was told they would be available in 2 weeks. I was promised the tracking details and to be kept in the loop but after 3 weeks and no correspondence I had to call numerous times before being told they they weren’t sure where they were. Rather than call back I had to call the next day to get some sort of answer as the return call they promised didn’t happen. This delay resulted in a knock on effect for the trades and extra delays and expense on site.
When all the items eventually arrived (weeks late) the privacy door mechanism didn’t work and the builder had to order replacement parts as the ones supplied were not fit for purpose.
These were meant to be sent via courier that day with high priority but they took a further 3 weeks to arrive. Once again we were left in the dark as what their status with no tracking details or correspondence and I had to call several times to get any feedback and status of the delivery.
Our builder said this was the 3rd time he had seen handles from Designer Doorware not work or missing parts and he wasn’t surprised.
I called the head office to express my frustrations but was told there was nothing they could do and it was just bad luck.
For the price they charge and for the extraordinarily bad service we experienced this was a slap in the face.
Stay clear!!
