If you’re looking for a great place to live, look no further than Newington, NSW. This charming suburb has everything you need to feel at home. From excellent schools and plenty of parks and green spaces to a thriving local community and plenty of shopping and dining options, Newington has it all! Here are just a few of the things that make this suburb such a great place to call home.
Honestly, this suburb is one of the most serene and beautiful places I have ever had the pleasure of living in. The streets are lined with trees and there is an incredible sense of community here. Everyone looks out for one another and it really feels like a tight-knit community.
If you have school-aged children, you’ll be happy to know that Newington has some excellent schools. My kids have absolutely loved attending our local primary school and we’ve been very impressed with the quality of education they’ve received.
Newington is also home to plenty of parks and green spaces, which is great for us dog owners! Our family enjoys spending time at Blackwattle Bay Park, where we can take our dog for a walk, have a picnic, or just relax and enjoy the stunning views.
One of the things I love most about Newington is the strong sense of community here. There are always community events happening, like markets and festivals, and it’s really easy to get involved and meet new people.
Another great thing about Newington is the variety of shopping and dining options. Whether you’re looking for a casual meal or a night out on the town, you’ll find what you’re looking for in Newington.
If you’re looking for a night out, Newington has plenty of options for you. There are several great bars and clubs, as well as a cinema and a bowling alley. You’re sure to find something to suit your taste!
There are many movie theatres that show the latest blockbusters as well as smaller, more intimate theatres that show independent and arthouse films. If you’re a fan of live music, there are several great venues in Newington where you can see some amazing local and international acts.
There are so many things that make Newington a great place to live. From the serenity of the suburb to the excellent schools and parks, there’s something for everyone in this wonderful community. If you’re looking for a place to call home, look no further than Newington!

Fantastic amount of play equipment for children. Very good facilities. Good amount of parking so you aren’t stressed or frustrated finding a spot. A nice walk along the river where plenty of cyclists use. It’s a great area that really acts as a hub of social and recreation activity for family.

Great park, however the toilets are a bit removed from the playground. The playground is quite spread out so you also really need to keep on moving to keep an eye on your kids, also as lots of the areas are hidden by hills. It is awesome tho as there are so many things to do. We were in a large group with kids and adults bikes where we could really use the great bike park. The water spray area was great especially if you bring swimmers as it rotates to the different spray zones with different strengths.

Parking is a little hectic bit it was a nice Sunday afternoon so get there early if you go. The park is huge and there are plenty of walking / riding tracks to get around. There where even children on roller skates. Great idea. Well worth going if you’re looking for a nice day out with family and friends.

The place is nice and serene. They also have a nice bike hire and a cafe. The bike hire is at a reasonable price and the bikes are good with many options available.

The dog park is massive. But it’s one of those dog parks where the owners stay for ages and ages. So if you’re dog doesn’t get along with another or you don’t like the vibe then you’re better off going for a walk around the river because the owners stay for ages.

Toilets need to be upgraded and sometimes when there are parties and social events occurring, there is so much rubbish piled up in the bins that it is overflowing.
Otherwise, the rest of the walking track, fields are good for sports and pets, and has a nice view to the Parramatta River.
In future, there will be a Ermington Light Rail stop as part of the Parramatta Light Rail Stage 2 project so there will be improved accessibility and convenience to this park without the need for driving.
