Lindfield East Public School

This is a public primary school located on Lindfield East Road. It is co-educational and teaches students from preschool to Year six. It was established in 1887 and currently has a student population of approximately 240 students. It is also known as Lindfield East PS or LES for short, and was initially called the EH Public School after its first headmaster (1887-1912). The school celebrated its centenary year in 1987 with an open day on 27 September.

East Lindfield Family Daycare

This family childcare centre sits behind St Mary’s Church at 52 Trevillian Road. It offers preschool programs that are designed to suit children from 0 – 12 years old and provides care for up to twelve infants at any one time. Staff can help your child develop their communication skills through play activities such as painting, clay modelling, and puppets while you attend to your work commitments.

East Lindfield Community Preschool

This is a secular preschool that is located on the grounds of the East Lindfield Public, NSW School. It offers three different programs catering for children from two to six years old, and has both full-time and part-time attendance options. The preschool is open each weekday from 07:30am until 04:00pm during school terms, with an extended hours program offered on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings until 06:30am. Fees are payable per term or per day, and families who qualify may be eligible for government funding support.

Newington Lindfield K-12 Preparatory School

This private preparatory school caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 12. It is located at 31 Rupertswood Road and was established in 1992. The school has a strong academic focus with students being free to take part in co-curricular activities while they work towards their tertiary entrance score.

Cromehurst School

This private boys’ preparatory school offers programs from Kindergarten to Year 12, catering for both day and boarding students. Catered facilities are provided right on the grounds of this traditional old English style campus which dates back to 1894 when it first opened its doors as an orphanage called “Newington College”. In 1998, Newington sold its Orphanage Farm property – now named Lindfield Preparatory Campus which sits adjacent to East Lindfield Public School – to Cromehurst School for the purpose of establishing a preparatory school. It is now one of Sydney’s most prestigious and sought-after schools, with enrolment applications often exceeding the number of places available.
