History

This area was originally inhabited by the Dharug people. The name Kurrajong comes from the Dharug word for “wilderness”. The area was first settled by Europeans in 1804 and was originally known as “The Meadows”. In 1823, the town was officially renamed Kurrajong.

In the late 19th century, Kurrajong became a popular tourist destination for city dwellers looking to escape the heat of Sydney. The town was also known for its fruit orchards and vineyards. Today, Kurrajong is still a popular tourist destination and is also home to many artists and galleries.

Comfortable, clean and well-furnished home for a family getaway. Rebecca was a great host and very accommodating to bedding arrangements. Kitchen was spacious – large oven and fridge, perfect for entertaining. Fire pit was a bonus! Highly recommended.

Ridiculously beautiful, well kept and appointed venue in a fantastic location. The house sleeps up to 10 very comfortably, both the house and barn (events space) are air-conditioned and can accommodate functions of 30(ish) persons very comfortably. Curraweena House is perfect for family gatherings, retreats or small weddings/celebrations. Rebecca (host) was very helpful and accomodating in catering to our specific requirements and made sure the house, events space (barn) and grounds were in tip-top shape, well stocked with linen, kitchen and bathroom supplies, tea/coffee and condiments. Rebecca, thank you for helping to make our wedding day such a perfect occasion! We couldn’t recommend this place more highly.

I arranged a visit to Curraweena House for our work team. It took several months (due to Covid) to finally make the trip and it was well worth the wait. The house and gardens are beautiful, the kitchen is fabulous and fully equipped and the Hamptons design is super stylish. The linen, towels and furnishings are top quality. Rebecca was so helpful responding to our requests and the day trip planning suggestions worked perfectly for our group. We had a wonderful stay.

We didn’t sell with Michael Bennet & unfortunately we didn’t end up buying with him either as our perfect home happened to be with another Real Estate. But of all the agents we came across during our 4 months of house hunting & viewing over 35 homes, Michael Bennet was most impressive. He was honest, kind, gentle & committed to selling homes.
